TP-Link Router

Change Device

Only 1 device, which is connected to the WIST Network Port, will get an IP address. If you use a switch, the other devices won't work. Therefore only use a router if you use mutliple devices.

If you want to exchange the device which is connected to the WIST network port, you have to "release" the IP address. With Windows, you have to open "cmd" and enter "ipconfig /release" (without quotation marks), then unplug the network cable and connect the new device. For Mac you cannot release an IP. For Linux use "dhclient -r -v". Most routers have a Button at Internet connection tab called "Release" or "DHCPRELEASE". If you cannot release the IP you have to unplug the device and wait for 1 hour, until you can connect the new device.
